Deer Pants

This is one part of a personal project inspired by the many different ways one can read the Bible. I call them Scripture Pictures. For a long time I have been unable to read Psalm 42:1 without a little giggle.

“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God.”

Now how can I leave that alone? Unfortunately, it doesn’t work as well when reading from KJV. The humor is somewhat lost, as you can see.

“As the heart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.”
